Dougals latest monotypes celebrate the diversity, sensuality and inherent queerness of plant and human ecologies. They began with drawings of ‘Gunnera’ an exuberant, bisexual plant which thrives in watery environments. Branching out from Gunnera, these prints now explore more generally the relationships between wetlands and queerness. These works were initiated during a recent printmaking residency at Dumfries house in Scotland.
